On Oct. 31, Schlumberger said it opened a new reservoir and rock analysis laboratory in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The laboratory supports Middle East and Asia customers and complements the regional network of laboratories in Dubai, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
Customers will receive powerful data integration with fastest turnaround time through the laboratory’s core processing and analysis services, advanced digital rock modeling and fluid inclusion technology.
The laboratory will use Schlumberger's proprietary CoreFlow digital rock and fluid analytics services to create 3-D reservoir models to simulate flow performance under multiple scenarios.
The laboratory is also the first Schlumberger laboratory outside of the U.S. to offer the company's FIS fluid inclusion stratigraphy analysis, which evaluates abundance, distribution and composition of hydrocarbon and nonhydrocarbon species trapped in inclusions in cuttings or core samples.
