A subsea facilities contract for an undisclosed value has been awarded to Subsea 7 by ExxonMobil subsidiary Esso E&P Nigeria for the operator’s deepwater Erha North field offshore Nigeria.
The contract will see Subsea 7, in a consortium formed of West African Ventures Ltd. and Subsea 7’s Nigerian subsidiary, carry out the engineering, procurement, fabrication and installation of 25 km of flowlines, 15 km of umbilicals, and 17 rigid jumpers. The scope also includes modifications to the field’s FPSO in order to integrate it with the new subsea facilities, said Subsea 7.
Erha North lies in water depths ranging from 1,000-1,200 m (3,281-3,937 ft). The project will maximise the use of local personnel and resources in Nigeria, in particular significant parts of the design will be executed in Nigeria and all subsea structures will be fabricated there also.
Engineering will start immediately, with offshore installation scheduled to begin in early 2015.
