Technip of France has confirmed the acquisition of Norwegian offshore specialist Ingenium AS for an undisclosed fee. The engineering and services contractor based in Oslo designs and develops mechanical and electro-hydraulic tools and equipment, and provides engineering services for marine operations, such as the installation of pipes and cables. Ingenium recently carried out umbilical lay spread work for the North Sea Giant multipurpose vessel, used on the deepwater Goliat project offshore Norway, said Technip. Ingenium currently employs more than 20 engineers in the subsea business.
