Buoyancy product provider Trelleborg has been given the green light by Brazilian authorities to start producing in-country after receiving a municipal license. Trelleborg has been granted a Licença Municipal de Operação – a municipal operating license – allowing the company to manufacture its products there. Already the company has received its first order to supply its Vikotherm PT thermal foam insulation tape, which is designed for deepwater applications and will be produced in Brazil. Also the company is manufacturing two drill riser buoyancy modules in Houston for eventual use in Brazil. Trelleborg already operates five sites in Macaé, São Paulo and São José dos Campos in Brazil.
