Irish independent Tullow Oil reports that drilling operations are ongoing on the deepwater Cachalote-1 well offshore east Africa’s Mozambique, with the rig to move on to drill a probe on the Buzio prospect once the current well is complete. It also said that, following a detailed review of results to date from its

West Africa Transform Margin acreage, it had relinquished its interests in Blocks LB-16 and LB-17 offshore Liberia on Africa’s western coast. Tullow has retained its interest in Block LB-15 in Liberia and Block SL- 07B-11 in Sierra Leone but is currently focused on its Côte d’Ivoire and Guinea campaigns.

It also reported that production from its Jubilee field offshore Ghana is currently at 110,000 b/d of oil, and is expected to rise to more than 120,000 b/d by the end of the third quarter. It added that following the expiry of the Deepwater Tano exploration licence in May, the remaining non-prospective acreage had been relinquished and the Jubilee Unit Area, the TEN Development and Production Area, and the Wawa Discovery Area had been retained.
