The Very Large Crude Carrier Luxembourg has been sold for US $28 million by its owners for conversion into a new FPSO. Belgium-based tanker company Euronav agreed to sell the double-hulled VLCC, which was built in 1999 at 299,150 dwt, to an undisclosed buyer. Euronav, which says it will recognise a $6 million gain on the sale, indicates that the VLCC will be delivered to its new owner between May and June this year, allowing time for two more voyages before it is taken over for conversion into an FPSO by its new owner.
