Continental Resources Inc. (NYSE: CLR) appointed Tony C. Maranto, an industry veteran most recently with EnerVest Ltd., as the Oklahoma City-based company's COO, according to regulatory filings on April 10.
Jack Stark's title is set to change to president when Maranto joins May 1. Stark has served as president and COO of Continental since 2014 when he was promoted from his position as senior vice president of exploration. He has been with Continental since 1992.
Maranto has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and natural gas industry and previously served as executive vice president and COO for EnerVest Operating Co. since August 2016, according to EnerVest's website.
Prior to EnerVest, Maranto served as vice president and general manager at EOG Resources Inc. (NYSE: EOG) where he was responsible for the company's Midcontinent business unit. He was with EOG for more than 20 years.
Maranto is a native of Shreveport, La., where he graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a B.S. in Petroleum Engineering before earning a M.B.A. from Centenary College. He also currently serves on the board of the Southwest Affiliate of the American Heart Association.
