Newpark Drilling Fluids’ Evolution fluid system is a water-based, clay-free polymer system engineered for use in harsh horizontal shale gas intervals. Components of the system include:
• EvoVis Viscosifier – Handles unconventional shale gas environments through thermal stability, contaminant stability, and resistance to shear degradation; and
• EvoLube Drilling Lubricant – Optimizes transmission of weight to the bit with minimal torque and drag in long horizontal production using lubricating qualities similar to oil-based muds.
The system has been tested in the Haynesville shale and has provided stable well bores coupled with high lubricity and improved ROP as a result of its ability to withstand high bottomhole temperatures in the presence of significant contaminants including CO2. www.newparkdf.com
