Energy investment banker Matthew R. Simmons announced his retirement from Simmons & Company International, effective June 30th, and his intent to devote his full focus to The Ocean Energy Institute.

Houston oilman George P. Mitchell has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gas Technology Institute. Mitchell received the prestigious honor for pioneering hydraulic fracturing and drilling technologies that created a shale gas revolution. Mitchell was given the award at the “Global Unconventional Gas 2010: Unlocking Your Potential” conference.

Senergy Ltd. has appointed Mike Bowyer as its first COO.

Suzanne M. McCarron has been named president of the ExxonMobil Foundation. She replaces Gerald W. McElvy, who has been the foundation’s president since 2005.
