Energy and carbon management company California Resources Corp. (CRC) appointed Nicole Parra on July 6 to vice president of community affairs, the company announced in a press release.
Coming from her most recent position as the Kern Community College District’s California Renewable Energy Laboratory Director, Parra will be responsible for the company’s local partnerships and executing community benefits plans for CRC’s oil and natural gas and carbon management businesses.
“As CRC helps further the state’s energy transition objectives, I’m excited to collaborate with our local stakeholders to ensure the company’s business initiatives provide meaningful benefits to our communities,” Parra said.
Parra has over 30 years of experience working in legislation and politics and has served in the California State Assembly thrice now. She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of California, Berkeley, and a doctorate from the Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
