E&P Chord Energy Corp. has named former Ranger Oil Corp. CEO Darrin Henke as executive vice president and COO effective Jan. 2, the company said in a Dec. 27 press release.
Chip Rimer, Chord’s current executive vice president and COO will retire on Jan. 12. Henke's 30 years of upstream oil and gas experience includes leadership positions at Gary Permian and Encana Group, the company said.
Chord also appointed Susan Cunningham as independent chair of the company’s board, effective Jan. 1.
With more than 35 years of oil and gas experience, Cunningham has served on Chord’s board since July 2022 and currently chairs the board’s ESG committee and on the board’s compensation and human resources committee.
She also serves as a board member at Enbridge and her previous experience includes posts at Texaco, Statoil Energy and Amoco Corp.
Lynn A. Peterson is set to retire as the executive chair of Chord’s board on Dec. 31, reducing the board’s size to nine members, the release said.
“Lynn was a pioneer in the shale revolution and helped transform the Williston into one of the premier U.S. energy basins,” Cunningham said. “The board and Chord Energy have benefited from Lynn's decades of industry leadership and contributions which have put the company in a strong position for continued success."
