Norman Porter was promoted to director, Eastern Hemisphere, at HB Rentals. TAM International appointed Mike Machowski as COO of the company’s international operations and Francisco Suarez as vice president of the Western Hemisphere.

ION promoted Mike Mellen to vice president of the company’s GX technology business unit and Paul Farmer to vice president of ION Innovation. ION Geophysical also named Chris Usher as executive vice president and COO of its geoscience division.
Alistair Porter will serve as operations director for London at Xodus Group. In addition, James Knipe will be subsea team lead and Chris Smith will lead the production assurance offering at the company’s Perth, Australia, office.

The Offshore Technology Conference will honor Total E&P with a corporate achievement award for the company’s Pazflor deep offshore development in Angola during an awards dinner May 5, 2013.
Global Tubing LLC expanded to Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, where it opened a new coiled tubing service and inventory center.
Momentive Specialty Chemicals Inc.’s oil-field technology group opened a new transload facility. The new location will provide resin-coated proppants to oil and gas service companies and operators.
DownUnder GeoSolutions has expanded to the UK, opening an office in London. The company will provide global E&P services from its new location.
The Rapid Response Institute LLC expanded its presence to Guadalajara, Mexico, with the opening of a new facility.
Honeywell opened a regional automation college in Hanoi, Vietnam, in partnership with Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group and PetroVietnam University. Engineers can receive technical skills training at the new facility.
Merrick established a Canadian branch, Merrick International Canada Ltd., based in Calgary.
High Pressure Equipment Co. will relocate to a new, larger facility in the Erie, Pa., area.
