Energy producer Ovintiv Inc. named Sippy Chhina as an independent member of its board of directors effective Jan. 15, according to a Jan. 11 press release.
Chhina recently retired as a partner at services firm Deloitte Canada LLP where she held various roles since 2006. She also served as a member on Deloitte’s board and was a vice chair of the company.
Chhina holds experience in the energy industry, accounting, auditing and financial reporting, the release stated.
“Her diverse business experience and track record of excellence as a strategic advisor will expand the board's strengths," said Ovintiv’s Chairman Peter Dea. "Sippy's appointment builds on our commitment to meaningful engagement and sound corporate governance through our ongoing board refreshment process."
