Quick recovery from data transmission glitches introduced
Large files can take several minutes to send on a high-speed data link. If the connection is dropped, the user will have to restart the transmission at the beginning. And there’s no guarantee it won’t be interrupted again.
Now reconnections can be picked up where they left off with the push of a button. The Re-Connect Uploader from Digital Well File Inc. uses secure encrypted, web-based online banking technology so all rig data from drilling reports, well logs, mud logs, and testing data can be uploaded to the company server without the pain caused by momentary communication interruptions. Even high-bandwidth digital photos of rig parts or problems with equipment can be sent without wasting valuable time due to transmission glitches.
Users can download, sort, and search for information quickly and efficiently. Users have a unique log-in and password and can access all authorized company data depending on their privilege, which is controlled by the operating company. It’s fast and easy-to-use, and it saves valuable time and money.
Hydraulic drivehead controls pump speed
The Moyno Gear Drivehead (MGD) uses an adjustable hydraulic gear drive to quickly and easily control the downhole progressing cavity pump (PCP) speed at the well site to maximize production without pumping off the well. This hydraulic drivehead features effective backspin control that has been field-proven for operational safety.
The drivehead :
• Is rated to 70 hp at 1,200 prm input speed;
• Has high-strength alloy shafts for rugged durability;
• Accepts standard “C” mount 80 or 90 cc hydraulic motors for ready access to cost-effective components;
• Handles system pressures to 4,000 psi for application versatility;
• Eliminates external moving parts such as belts and sheaves;
• Optimizes production by easily matching pump speed to well conditions; and
• Is easy to maintain.
Ball valve provides leak-tight seal
Swagelok Company has released a larger size of its FKB series medium-pressure ball valve. Designed for improved cycle life in the field, the trunnion-style ball valves provide a leak-tight seal for applications up to 15,000 psig (1,034 bar) and feature Swagelok’s direct load design, which delivers a more consistent seal across a full range of pressures. Innovative stem and end connection seals prevent shell leakage and provide robust cycle life even in severe conditions.
The two-way 8FKB ball valve complements the original 6FKB ball valve introduced in May 2009. The 8FKB ball valve, with a 0.375-in. orifice, offers ½-in. gaugeable Swagelok medium-pressure tube fitting end connections or ½-in. female NPT. The 6FKB ball valve is available with 0.209-in. orifice and ¼-, 3/8-, or ½-in. Swagelok medium-pressure tube fitting end connections, or female NPT end connections.
Swagelok medium-pressure ball valves deliver reliable and repeatable operation to meet the performance requirements of common offshore applications such as topside wellhead control panels, chemical injection panels, well workover panels, and control systems. Maintaining the integrity of the valve seal is critical for applications where positive shut-off is required. A bottom-loaded stem design eliminates stem blowout for enhanced operator safety.
The FKB series features low-torque actuation, eliminating the need for assist methods and accessories in manual actuation. If pneumatic actuation is required, the valves are available with ISO-5211 compliant actuators. A positionable handle provides flexibility in panel layout by reducing clearance issues with other components.
Swagelok medium-pressure tube fitting end connections provide single turn makeup, or makeup by torque, for reduced installation time and labor costs. Like traditional Swagelok tube fittings, the end connections employ a two ferrule design to deliver robust tube grip, leak-tight gas seal, and vibration resistance.
Designed for the higher working pressures of the oil and gas industry, the Swagelok line of medium pressure products also includes medium pressure fittings and seamless tubing.
