Oil and Natural Gas Corp. Ltd. awarded Transocean Ltd.’s Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 a binding notification of award for work offshore India, Transocean announced in an Aug. 30 press release.
The deepwater drillship contract runs 21 months and is expected to begin in first-quarter 2024. It will contribute $222 million in backlog, excluding a mobilization fee of $5 million.
Transocean is an international provider of offshore contract drilling services for oil and gas wells. The company operates a fleet of 37 mobile offshore drilling units—28 ultra deepwater floaters and nine harsh environment floaters.
