Dutch shipping equipment group Huisman is about to load out the latest of five pipelay systems ordered for new offshore construction ships.
After winning a clutch of new equipment orders, Huisman recently loaded out onto its quayside at Schiedam in The Netherlands a new 800 metric tonne (mt) multi-lay system designed and built for the Lewek Constellation ship, on behalf of ship operator Ezra. This is to be installed on the vessel in July.
Huisman has also completed a 275 mt vertical lay system for the Polar Onyx, operated by Ceona which will be installed on the vessel at Schiedam next month. A 150 mt vertical-lay system built for Ocean Installer’s Normand Vision vessel will be transported to a shipyard in Sovik, Norway, to be fitted on the vessel there.
A portable 150 mt vertical-lay system built for Technip will be fitted in Le Trait in France.
Additionally the company has also built a 550 mt tiltable lay system for Subsea 7, which is already onboard the Seven Waves. Subsea 7’s ship is due to depart from the Huisman Schiedam quayside this month to commence sea trials.
Also a total of 10 other pipelay systems are currently under construction at the Huisman site.
