Keppel Singmarine, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd. (Keppel O&M), has secured two contracts worth a total of about Sing $65 million (US$49 million).
One was awarded by Seaways International to build a multi-task Anchor Handling Tug (AHT) vessel, with a designed bollard pull of 100 tonnes. It will be equipped with Class 1 and 2 fire-fighting capabilities, dynamic positioning systems Class 2, oil recovery Class I capabilities and other equipment. It is due for completion in second-quarter 2016 and will be the fifth AHT unit built by Keppel Singmarine for Seaways.
The yard was also awarded a contract by Nakilat-Keppel Offshore & Marine, a joint venture shipyard in Qatar between Qatar’s Nakilat and Keppel O&M, to provide technical services for the construction of a lift boat.
