MicroSeismic Inc. plans to install the first permanent BuriedArray for a major operator in Argentina that is undertaking a lateral drilling campaign, the company said in a news release.
The BuriedArray system, which will be used for microseismic monitoring for four lateral wells in the Neuquén Basin, consists of near-surface stations. Initially, two pads will be monitored. The system will be installed by UGA Seismic S.A. (UGA), a Pan-American geophysical company.
In addition, UGA will provide the microseismic data acquisition system, while MicroSeismic will provide hydrofracturing visualization and analysis of the wells’ completions and life-of-field imaging of the reservoir from the BuriedArray, according to the release. When calibrated by the 3-D seismic, MicroSeismic said the BuriedArray will become a life-of-field asset for 4-D reservoir monitoring and refracture imaging.
