Further progress has been reported by Kosmos Energy on two of its other deepwater Ghana deepwater projects.
On the TEN project, involving development of the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme fields, construction is well underway on the newbuild FPSO planned for the field, with development drilling due to start in the fourth quarter of this year. First oil from TEN is due in 2016 at a rate of up to 80,000 b/d of oil.
Meanwhile appraisal work is ongoing for the Mahogany, Teak and Akasa (MTA) discoveries in the Greater Jubilee area. In the fourth quarter of last year Kosmos reported the completion of the Akasa-2 appraisal well, which successfully tested the downdip extent of that accumulation, and “…further refined the resource base attributable to the three discovery areas.” The MTA discoveries are currently expected to be eventually developed via subsea tiebacks to one of the nearby FPSOs on Jubilee or TEN.
