Tullow Oil has signalled that gas offtake facilities should be available for its deepwater Jubilee field offshore Ghana towards the end of this year with the completion of an onshore gas processing facility.
It has also said it is pursuing the idea of a gas bypass line to directly route surplus field gas into the new terminal.
Ghana’s Environmental Protection Agency has granted a permit allowing up to 500 MMcf/d of gas to be flared from Jubilee per month until October: “This limited flaring will help maintain current production rates while we await startup of the main gas processing facility, which will then allow a ramp up of production from the Jubilee field towards the facility capacity of 120,000 b/d,” Tullow said.
Jubilee is produced an average of 103,000 b/d for the first half this year, Tullow reported, and it stated it is confident of averaging 100,000 b/d for the full year.
