Reservoir services company Core Laboratories NV acquired Sanchez Technologies in an all-cash transaction, Amsterdam-based Core said June 23. Sanchez is based in Viarmes, France.
Sanchez designs and manufactures cutting-edge reservoir pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) equipment and instrumentation to determine petroleum reservoir fluids phase-behavior relationships of crude oils, natural gas and interstitial waters. Reservoir fluids phase-behavior is critical to deepwater developments, Core said.
PVT properties include determination of saturation pressures, compositional characterizations, formation volume factors, viscosities, and gas-oil ratios. These data sets support production and EOR, especially in unconventional reservoirs, Core said.
Sanchez leads the supply of automated high-pressure, high-temperature mercury-free PVT equipment. Core uses these systems in its reservoir fluids laboratories worldwide. Core’s PVT data sets are developed from visual measurements of reservoir fluids at pressures up to 29,000 psi in reservoirs with formation depths greater than 20,000 feet, such as the Gulf of Mexico.
