An Aberdeen-based subsea services company will be helping BHP Billiton install six platforms offshore Trinidad and Tobago under a newly awarded contract.

Cortez Subsea, which was formed just three years ago, has won a six-figure sum to deliver inspection services to BHP during installation operations at the Greater Angostura field in the Eastern Venezuela Basin region.

Investment in asset inspection software during the past year involving new equipment and new technologies has helped to win the work, the company said in a press release.
