Wavefield Inseis today announced that it has been awarded a contract for the provision of a source vessel to integrate into a "Life of Field Seismic" project over BP's Clair field west of the Shetland Islands. This project uses a permanent array of four-component seismic sensors that were buried into the seafloor above the reservoir in 2006 so that high quality 4-D data sets can be efficiently acquired during the production life of the field.

The 4-D acquisition is expected to commence in July and will use the Wavefield Inseis vessel M/V Malene Ostervold. "We are very pleased to be a part of this BP life of field seismic project," commented Rick Donoghue, VP Marketing and Sales for Wavefield Inseis. "We believe strongly in this type of permanent seismic monitoring and have made substantial investments in this market."
