Halliburton announced today that it has pledged to give US $350,000 to Montana Tech, of the University of Montana System, to assist with the construction of a new Natural Resources Building. When completed in 2008, this new facility will expand the capacity of Montana Tech’s Petroleum Engineering Department to train engineers for the United States’ unconventional gas markets.

"We are proud to be a part of this endeavor,” said Jim Brown, senior vice president, Western Hemisphere, Halliburton Energy Services Group. “A major challenge that the energy and energy services industries face is a maturing workforce and the need to develop human capital. As this generation of employees begins retiring over the next several years, investment in the training and development of future energy and energy services workers is crucial.”

Halliburton, founded in 1919, is one of the world's largest providers of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries. The company serves its customers with a broad range of products and services through its Energy Services Group and KBR.
