WesternGeco has announced the completion of Fruholmem, a 3-D multi-client survey in the Barents Sea, Arctic Ocean. The survey acquired data over an area of 158 sq miles (408 sq km).

“This survey fully utilizes the WesternGeco advanced acquisition and processing technologies to meet high operator interest in the area,” said Rupert Hoare, Europe multi-client development manager, WesternGeco. “The Fruholmen survey covers a similar geological structure to the recent Nucula discovery, which is located only 18 miles (30 km) away.”

The processed data will be available for licensing in mid-November in advance of the Norwegian 20th Offshore License round.
