The latest find boosts Kosmos’ gross resource estimate for the Greater Tortue Complex to 17 trillion cubic feet, adding to the region’s potential.

The Sara-4 development well in Pakistan has been completed in the Sui Upper Limestone formation of Eocene age, flowing gas at an average rate of about 1.6 million cubic feet per day, Jura Energy Corp. said in a news release.

The joint venture partners are discussing an additional appraisal well, and the decision whether to drill it will follow evaluation of Antelope-6 and flow test results from Antelope-5.

A group led by Isramco Negev and Modiin Energy said a resource report showed there could be an estimated total of 8.9 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas at the Daniel East and West fields.

Roxi Petroleum’s Well 143 at its flagship asset BNG in Kazakhstan has flowed oil strongly since the start of 2016 and continues to flow well, the company said in a news release Jan. 13.

Wei-4 well, southwest of China's coastal city of Beihai, tested a daily output of 1,264 tonnes of crude and 71,800 cm of natural gas at a first layer, Reuters said.

The company said it had produced high-quality oil at a rate of around 8,000 barrels per day (bbl/d) from its SNE-2 well around 100 km (62 miles) off the coast of Senegal.

Exploration well 7130/4-1 is the first well drilled in PL708. It was drilled to 3,160 m total depth in 288 m of water by the Transocean Arctic semisubmersible drilling unit.

Estimates indicate that the well’s output potential could be as high as the most prolific wells of the Santos Basin’s presalt layer, with good quality 31 degree API oil. It is a single oil accumulation.

The resource assessment study, commissioned by Nalcor Energy to BeicipFranlab, indicates the potential for 12 Bbbl of oil and 3.2 Tcm (113 Tcf) of gas for just the 11 blocks that were offered in the 2015 licensing round.

Oil samples, sidewall cores and wire line logging all indicate the presence of high API oil in the best quality reservoir encountered in the South Lokichar Basin to date, Tullow said.
