Halliburton officially opened its new integrated completions center in New Iberia, La., on Feb. 26, the company announced in a March 3 statement. The new facility will increase the efficiencies and capabilities of the company’s resources for deepwater completion, align services, equipment maintenance, preparation and job execution for its Gulf of Mexico (GoM) area customers.
The facility houses more than 250 employees and is located on 103 acres on Admiral Doyle Drive. The 275,000-square-foot (sq ft) climate-controlled facility includes a 30,000 sq ft administration building, an operations command center and several learning auditoriums for training. Halliburton invested about $45 million in land and building costs.
Halliburton began construction on the facility in spring of 2013, and is consolidating completion services of its GoM operations from Houma and six locations in New Iberia, Broussard and Lafayette at the new center.
Halliburton employs about 3,500 people who live and work in Louisiana, including about 2,700 in the GoM area. The company has 42 facilities in the state.
