On Feb. 1, Michaela Huber will become the senior vice president of HSSE and sustainability, OMV said Jan. 28. Currently, Huber is senior vice president for communications and sustainability. Johannes Vetter will become senior vice president of corporate communications.

The HSSE department will manage all of the oil and gas company’s global issues related to health and safety and the environment. Both Huber and Vetter will continue reporting to Rainer Seele, CEO.

Huber joined Austria-based OMV in 2008 and has been head of corporate communications since 2011; in 2012 she took responsibility of the sustainability division. Together with her department, she has won 34 national and international awards since 2011, was named Marketer of the Year 2014 and received the IAA Inspire Champions Award in London in 2015.

Before joining OMV, Michaela Huber was the spokesperson for Austria’s ministries of interior and defense.

She is secretary-general of the International Advertising Association, is on the supervisory board of the Innsbrucker Kommunalbetriebe and is a member of the Austrian PR Council Ethics, OMV said.

Huber studied at the University of Salzburg and graduated from Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business.
