Interventek Subsea Engineering will supply its in-riser Revolution well intervention valve to Professional Rental Tools LLC. The companies signed a two-year exclusive deal, according to a Feb. 28 press release.
The valve, for well intervention in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GoM), will be supplied during the summer.
]PRT’s current subsea spanner joint system interfaces with rig BOPs, subsea tree vendor tubing hanger running tool and downhole functions during installation, workover or removal of subsea completions.
With the Revolution valve added, the deepwater, high-working pressure system will allow for cut wire or coiled tubing to go into the well and will provide a seal after the cut. The valve has pump-through capability to ease well-kill operations, the press release said.
Commenting on the new partnership, Stuart Ferguson, Interventek’s chairman, said the company will gather additional subsea experience in the GoM.
