Leni Oil & Gas intersected oil with the fourth of its planned 30 new development wells in the Goudron Field in Trinidad, a press release said. Well GY-667 intersected 57 m (187 ft) of net oil pay in the Goudron sandstones based on analysis of the electric logging.
The well has now been cased to a depth of 581 m (1,905 ft) to isolate the Goudron Sandstone and the high-pressure Upper Gros Morne gas intervals. It is now drilling ahead to the primary Gros Morne Sandstone oil target, which is expected at about 664 m (2,180 ft) true vertical depth.
Well GY-667 will also investigate the presence of reservoir potential of the Lower Cruse at this location.
