Centrica has found gas at the Pegasus West well in the southern part of the U.K. North Sea.

Plans are underway to carry out a drillstem test on the find after the 43/13b-7 Pegasus West well drilled in license P1724 at a water depth of 30 m (95 ft). The well was drilled with the Paragon 391 jackup.

Centrica operated the well with 55% equity. Partner Atlantic Petroleum, which has 10% equity, has indicated that LWD and wireline logging tools indicated the presence of gas.

Pegasus West lies near to the producing Cavendish gas field.
