Pemex has installed a compression platform in its Tsimin-Xux development in the Gulf of Mexico using the float-over method, a first for the state-owned company.

The structure has a separation capacity of 200,000 bbl/d of oil and 600 MMcf/d of gas, the company said in a news release. The platform, built by Dragados Offshore de Mexico, has a height of 53 m (174 ft) and weighs more than 14,000 tons, the release said.
