Petronas Carigali, the E&P subsidiary of the national oil company in Malaysia, has extended the contract for the jack-up rig Maersk Convincer by one year, according to a Maersk press release.

Consequently, the rig will be on contract with Petronas until mid-November 2015. The estimated revenue potential from the one-year contract extension is $56 million.

Maersk Convincer is one of two Baker Marine 375-ft jack-up rigs in Maersk Drilling’s fleet. The rig has been working in Southeast Asia since its delivery from Jurong Shipyard in 2008 and with Petronas Carigali since 2011.
