Polarcus Alima has mobilized for a dual-azimuth proprietary 3-D seismic survey offshore Cote d'Ivoire, West Africa, Polarcus said in a press release. The purpose-built seismic vessel is equipped with specialized maritime technology to minimize the environmental footprint of the operation, and the vessel has been awarded the highest achievable Triple-E environmental and energy efficiency rating by DNV-GL.
The survey, for an undisclosed client, will cover an area of about 1,800 sq km (695 sq miles) and will involve the vessel towing a 10-streamer receiver spread in two different azimuths, designed to optimally image the client's geological objectives in the near-shore shallow water blocks. The survey is expected to run for about two months.
