Technip received a lump sum contract to develop the ultra-deepwater South Santa Cruz and Barataria fields in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, the company said Feb. 9.
The fields are in Mississippi Canyon offshore New Orleans in about 2,000 meters of water.
The contract from Deep Gulf Energy III LLC includes project management and engineering services; fabrication and installation of about 23 km of pipe-in-pipe flowline; design, fabrication and installation of flowline end terminations; fabrication and installation of jumpers; and pre-commissioning for the flowline.
Paris-based Technip's operating center in Houston will manage the overall project. The flowline system will be fabricated at the group’s spoolbase in Mobile, Ala., the company said.
The offshore installation is scheduled for second-half 2016 by Technip’s Deep Blue flagship deepwater pipelay vessel.
