Ana Zambelli will become chief commercial officer of Maersk Drilling, the company said May 11. Her role begins June 1. She is currently the managing director for subsea operations at Transocean, the company added.
Zambelli will report to CEO Claus V. Hemmingsen.
Zambelli will replace Martin Fruergaard as chief commercial officer, who is leaving Maersk Drilling after 25 years. He was chief commercial officer for six years, the company said.
Zambelli has been managing director for subsea operations for Transocean in Houston since 2012. Previously, she worked for Schlumberger Ltd.
Zambelli has a bachelor’s degree from \the Universidade Federal Do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. She has a master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh, Scotland. Zambelli also has an advanced certificate for executives in management from Sloan School of Management at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
As chief commercial officer, Zambelli will be a member of Maersk Drilling’s senior management team.
